Tentario – Supplier Spotlight
Tentario is another of our favourite suppliers. When you book a blank canvas wedding venue one of the first things you need is canvas. In a previous post we looked at a different type of canvas, but today we’re looking at tipis. They are extremely versatile and can be stunning on their own with just fairy lights, or decorated.
Names
Becky Packham & Andy Nicholson
Business Name
Tentario
Area you cover
Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire
How did you get into your business and what inspired you?
Andy started working at another tipi company as a summer job in between uni terms back in 2006. He didn’t look back! After uni he worked full time for them. Tentario had their first season in 2014 with Andy working alsongside Becky (we’re brother and sister-in-law), as company directors. We both love working outside (more so when the weather is good!) and love being part of couple’s special days. On the whole tipi couples are more relaxed (!) and we love the relaxed vibe the tipis create. So often we hear guests feedback from our couples. They say that so many say that their wedding was one of the best they’ve ever been to. We love hearing this!
What do you like about working at Great Betley Farmhouse?
It’s such a beautiful setting at Great Betley Farmhouse. The views are spectacular and with so much space, you can create the perfect outdoor wedding. And Kim is a great venue owner, super friendly and helpful. Great Betley is one of our favourites!
Describe your style
Relaxed, rustic and friendly!
At Great Betley Farmhouse we encourage sustainability and being environmentally friendly, how does your business support that ethos?
We have very little waste from our set-ups. All of our equipment is looked after very well and none of it is “one-use”. As a company, we’re very enviornmentally concious and do all we can to make sure our impact is minimal. For example, we still use all of our flooring mats that we bought in 2014. They are so well looked after no one would be able to tell those ones from our newer ones!
What advice would you give to couples to help them plan their celebration?
Try not to get too stressed out by the little details. Remember why you’re getting married and that it’s a celebration of love between the two of you. And use your suppliers – ask their advice as much as you need to. Between all of your suppliers you will have so much knowledge at your fingertips – we’re here to help!
