Describe your style

Our bell tent accommodation takes inspiration from bohemian and vintage styles, with handmade cushions and macrame for that personal touch. I like to add plants where I can to bring a little nature in, and want all guests to feel the comfort of home in the wild. We ensure all guests have a chance to bespoke their packages to suit the occasion. Adding a little wow factor and making it a unique stay to remember.

How did you get into your business and what inspired you?

A lifetime of camping with friends and family is my biggest inspiration. Waking up with birdsong and going to sleep under the stars. Time stands still and you just enjoy everything in the moment, appreciating the little things. You switch off from the world, getting back to nature, cooking outside and watching the fire dance. What’s not to love? From this I decided that I would start my own camping company. I want to encourage people who want to get out into nature and stay wild but don’t have everything that you need to make it happen. That’s where I come in, I love my job! I love helping people to create good times. So all anyone needs to do is to just turn up and enjoy themselves out in nature.

What do you like about working at Great Betley Farmhouse?

Kim and her lovely dogs of course, I look forward to having a catch up as soon as I get there! I’m always made to feel so welcome and a big part of any event we are doing together. The location of the farm is ideal. Beautiful surroundings and the gorgeous farmhouse itself, well it speaks louder than words. Love, love, love Great Betley Farmhouse x

I always feel so lucky to be working in such an amazing location, it’s like a secret gem hidden in the Sussex countryside. A perfect spot to encourage outdoor events and get people enjoying nature.

At Great Betley Farmhouse we encourage sustainability and being environmentally friendly, how does your business support that ethos?

At Stay Wild Events we are passionate about being kind to our Earth. We have a ‘leave no trace’ policy, providing all guests with suitable recycling, compost and refuse bags. Encouraging all campers to be considerate and mindful of their surroundings. We buy good qualit and long lasting products to reduce waste. Sourcing our products from local suppliers and second hand where possible. The lighting we use is either solar powered or use rechargeable batteries. We provide a list for campers of ways to reduce waste and the use of non recyclable products such as plastics bottles, etc…whilst camping, which results in less waste.

What advice would you give to couples to help them plan and enjoy their celebration?

So, depending on how big or small the event is, we encourage all couples to let us do the hard work. This is so that they can enjoy their special occasion. We supply bell tent villages for weddings, dealing with each guests requests personally so the wedding couple don’t have to.

For smaller events, we offer to bespoke the package by adding additional elements. This ensures that the couple have a wekend to remember tailored to their needs. Whether it be a hamper filled with bubbles, chocolates and a special gift for your loved one, to a pamper and therapy session right to your tent to ensure a truly relaxing break. We work with some amazing local suppliers to bring your ideas to life!
