Daisy & James - July 2023
Daisy and James’ wedding in July was on a perfect summer’s day. They were an absolute joy to work with and it was an honour and a pleasure to host this wedding celebration which was full of joy, laughter and the most amazing people.

“5-stars all the way! We struggled for ages to find a venue which was well-priced and allowed us the flexibility to have exactly the wedding we wanted. This place was a true gem in what is frankly a mind-bogglingly complex wedding venue world. Kim (the host) is amazing not only in the build and preparation of the event but also on the actual day. She helped with the big and small things and added a personal touch to our wedding that would be difficult to recreate at bigger venues. We had the most amazing wedding here and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for good value but excellent service.”
Emma & David - July 2023
It was a very unsettled day in July when we hosted Emma and David’s wedding celebrations, but the weather didn’t detract from the fun and emotion of this wonderful day. Half way through the ceremony as the rain turned from a tolerable drizzle to a bit of a downpour, David gave a pre-arranged nod to the celebrant and advised everyone to “leg it to the marquee!” where the ceremony was completed! It always pays to have a Plan B for outdoor weddings in the UK!

“Kim was fabulous from our first meeting, was so kind and warm and so helpful all the way through to our Big Day. Great Betley is a very special place and we knew as soon as we pulled up in the car that we had found our dream venue. Kim went above and beyond to help and she and Vicki were amazing on the day with our last minute change of plans because of the weather. Laura and Nick - July 2022
We absolutely loved Laura and Nick’s wedding. With rustic festival style touches, long tables and benches outside, a food truck, hydration stations, pamper tent and two marquees (one for food and the bar and one for partying!) it was laid back but stylish.
They were both so relaxed and were lovely and great fun to work with! Here’s what they’ve said about their day:
“What a ride! As soon as we turned up at Great Betley Farmhouse in January 2022 we knew it was where we would celebrate our marriage in the summer. The place speaks for itself, it’s a beautiful blank canvas with an incredible set up and picturesque backdrops, but more importantly Kim, the owner, really made us feel at ease and like we could be ourselves which is what you want when you get married. She’s all over her own organisation and was so helpful in the run up and on the day. The day itself was unbelievable, the sun shone, the place looked spectacular, and our guests had an unforgettable time. We couldn’t recommend Kim and Great Betley Farmhouse more highly. The connections with suppliers was brilliant and it just felt like we were having a huge party in our own garden! Thanks Kim 🙂 x”

Amie and Patrick - August 2022
I love this Thank You card from Amie and Patrick (published with permission). This was such a fun and beautiful wedding. It was one of the hotest days and nights of the year but there was plenty of water, cider and beer to keep everyone cooler. In addition to the main marquee there was a stage for the band (covered by my large garden gazebo to keep the band from frying in the sun!) and a separate chill out tent with leather chesterfield sofas for people to escape into if they wanted to. Food trucks and a mobile bar as well as a bouncy castle ensured a laid back and enjoyable party.
There were also some lovely details such as the chalkboard pallet detailing the running order of the day, and the lighting once it got dark was awesome!
The groom’s mum grew and supplied masses of flowers in baskets and wellies gathered from charity shops to decorate everything. There was also some wild meadow turf which was placed along the front of the marquees – she very kindly left it here and we have used it along the top end of the pond, and I can’t wait to see it bloom in the Spring and Summer!
Our summer season kicked off in June 2022 with a corporate summer party. Sophie from Brandwatch organised everything brilliantly and with a fabulous bar from Nine 12 Hospitality, music from Brighton Sound System, food trucks supplying a wide range of festival style food (The Land Doughver, Pizza; Knowing Meat Knowing You, Burgers; Damn Dirty Vegan for the vegans), marquee provided by Sussex Marquees, loos from Deliverlooz, and power from Grizzly Bear Events it was a perfect summer’s day and evening! Here’s what she has to say:
With fabulous views across the South Downs and an extremely generous space for your wildest event dreams.
The BnB was wonderful, it was such a lovely added benefit to hiring the field. The rooms were well equipped, comfortable & clean. Was great to have this option for early cleaning the next day. There is a beautiful pond at the front, which I could see from my bedroom window, was very trancial.
Kim was brilliant from start to finish. It was our first event like this, using a dry hire place, and I couldn’t have even started to think about all that went into it without Kim’s help. Kim was on hand for any questions we had & even liaised with some of our vendors to make sure they had all they needed etc.
This field is a hidden gem & a great deal for what you get. I would highly recommend using this for any event you are thinking of holding.
Our summer party was a huge success all thanks to Kim!”

On the Friday evening we were pleased to host the rehearsal dinner for Fi & Josh’s wedding the following day. Lovely celeberant Stewart O’Sullivan took the wedding party through their paces before dinner so that they knew what to expect the next day. We set tables out by the pond, decorated them with citronella candles in pretty blue and white tins that coincidentally matched the crockery, solar powered festoon lights and pretty wine bottles with fairy lights in them. Beautiful flowers by the bride’s sister completed the simple but attractive look. Sun brollies were put up over the tables to help keep in the warmth from the patio heaters later on. There wasn’t a breath of wind and everyone said that they felt like they could have been somewhere Mediterranean – it certainly had a Mama Mia vibe! The perfect end to a long day of wedding prep and a perfectly chilled start to the wedding celebrations.

Nicky & Kel’s wedding was full of joy, love and colour, here’s what they had to say afterwards:

Dear Kim
Thank you for all the hard work that you put in to making our wedding a special and amazing occasion. It all began with a Zoom call of the farmhouse and fields. We knew your venue was the ideal place for us and it was even more perfect when we finally got to see it once the Covid restrictions had eased!
We are very grateful for being very accommodating to our families and making sure that we were all well fed before and after the ceremony in the morning.
Thank you for all the hard work on the day itself – getting tractors to pull out stuck trucks, lending your kitchen for late-night chips and generally making sure that everything ran smoothly so that we could have a stress free day.

“Kim’s place is a real gem. Traditional farmhouse with beautiful views and so well located for the South Downs. We were very well looked after, breakfast was delicious and plentyful. Kim also provides dinner which needs to be preordered but is such an added bonus. The room was huge with most comfortable bed. What made it extra special for us was the tranquillity of the place.
